I-295 Express Lane Update
Posted on Mar 16th, 2015 Comments (0)
This posting will attempt to keep you informed about the FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) construction activities and plans for the beltway roadwork adjacent to our homes.
My name is Bob Taylor and I am the chairman of an HOA committee along with our past HOA President, Dan McKinney. The committee's charter is to represent our community of 380 homes to the FDOT units responsible for planning and building this new road expansion project.

The objective of the $89 million project is to add tolled express lanes at the center of the beltway in each direction between the Buckman Bridge and I-95. In addition, sound walls will be installed where appropriate to minimize the noise of the highway traffic. The sound walls adjacent to our homes will be 20 feet high. Further information can be found at:

To summarize, on each side of the beltway, the three existing lanes, will be augmented by two toll Express Lanes in the center. Thus the beltway will be a total of ten lanes wide, with much, but not all, of the space for the additional lanes coming from the center of the existing roadway. The existing lanes will remain free as they are today.

A project to add tolled express lanes along Interstate 295 from I-95 South to the Buckman Bridge began in October 2014 with the construction of noise walls along the corridor. Noise walls will be constructed prior to construction beginning on the express lanes
